Hebrews 6:18b-20 (NIV) ...we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:18-20 (MSG) We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek. ************************************** Lost and sinful we had spent most of our lives running from the very One who could save us from our sinful lives; basically saving us from ourselves. At some point the wooing of the Spirit speaking love to our hearts finally broke through to us. At that point instead of running from God we were running to God. Desperately fumbling to grab hold of that firm Anchor, Jesus Christ, our Rescuer. Jesus Christ, He is our anchor! The One whom we hold on to and know that we will be safe and secure. Take hold of this Anchor with both hands and never let go; for He is our unbreakable spiritual lifeline. Jesus is our Sacrifice, the Forerunner, our High priest, our Mediator. He has entered into the very presence of Almighty God on our behalf. He is our Advocate before the Almighty Judge; having taken up our cause. He stands firmly by our side, believing in us and pulling for us. Hallelujah, what a Savior! Hallelujah, what a Friend! There is no one like our Jesus! Take hold firmly to this Anchor and never let go. Through every storm of life He will hold you and never allow you to be swept away. Trust Him to hold you today! He is always faithful.
