Hebron is a microcosm of the brutality and complexity of the 47-year-old Israeli occupation. Over the past two months we continued to visit Hebron and witnessed the destructive consequences of both Operation Protective Edge and Operation Brothers Keeper, on the Palestinian population in the region. In particular, we saw the settlers manipulative attempt to use the national tragedy to change facts on the ground. Operation Brothers Keeper began as a search for the three kidnapped Israeli youth, though a mounting air of vengeance turned it into collective punishment. Residents of Hebron, and the Occupied Territories at large, were the ones who paid the price for this operation. Now more than ever, its time to visit Hebron.
