Hectic day and night of rescues and bandage changes. !0pm call out to a young Koala which wandered out of the burnt area into a suburban backyard and up a pine tree. The big net and a Koala pole did the trick. One and a half hours later she was safely at the Kilmore Wildlife Shelter. Only slightly scorched, she should recover well and be ready to go back to her family as soon as a suitable place is identified. This is the only Koala we have seen in the area. These fires are SO different to the Black Saturday ones where Steph and Paul and the WRES team rescued 28 Koala.
