Hector Lombana, a Cuban-American lawyer in Miami who said he is a Republican, was “overjoyed” by the president’s announcement and disappointed with the reaction of some other Latinos. Mr. Lombana was born in Cuba and came to the United States in 1961 at the age of 9. “I cringe when I see Cuban Americans, who but for the grace of God would be in the same position as these illegal immigrants, try to deny the mercy and sanctuary of America to others,” he said.
