Excited for Sunday! Hello Runners! Thank you for being a part of our 1st Annual Color Me Humboldt 5K Run to benefit The MGC, our local Multi-Generational Center (ervmgc). 100% of proceeds from this run will be kept local and will be used to support community programs and events. You are able to pick up your race packet on two different days: Friday, November 22 & the morning of the race. You can pick up your packet on Friday at The MGC in Fortuna, 2280 Newburg Rd. We will have packet pick up from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. We are encouraging all runners to pick up their packets on Friday. There will be a registration table on the day of the event in case you are not able to pick up the packet on Friday. Please show up at least an hour prior to start time. The race starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. and should be completed by 10:30 am. Andra Stringer Photography will be there to capture all of the colorful fun, all proceeds will be donated back to the MGC! Important Information What to wear: Wacky and wild outfits!! We will be providing you with an official event T-shirt and a pair of rockin’ 80’s sunglasses. If you are concerned about the powder reference our FAQ question page for details at ervmgc. What to bring: A garbage bag, towel, & a change of clothes. Arrival: The race begins at the Fortuna High in the Ag parking lot. The address for Fortuna High is 379 12th St. Fortuna, CA. If you are picking up your registration packet on the day of the race please arrive up to an hour prior to start time as the line could be a wait. If you have already picked up your packet, join us for some pre-race fun. We will have contests going before the run begins including craziest costumes, push up contests, a dance-off and much more! Parking: There will be parking available at Rohner Park, the Ford building on 12th St, and at Fortuna Middle School. Route: The route will begin in the AG parking lot of Fortuna High School. The 5k route is an out and back course following 12th to Alamar Way. There will be 4 heats leaving 10 minutes apart. Heats: The heats will be assigned at pre-registration. If you are running with a group, try to coordinate what heat you would like to be in beforehand, and we will do our best to honor requests. Safety: Please remember this is a family fun event and safety is our number one priority, Please stay in the designated lane and off sidewalks while running. Watch for pot holes and/or bumps in the road. Questions: Color Me Humboldt Run volunteers will be in yellow shirts so look for us on the day of the event.
