Heights 5 Portstewart Oly 4 As expected this game was a very closely contested contest and proved a case of if you score 4 we score 5 at the rope walk. It was the home side who settled the best and started to find feet with some nice moves. They were rewarded for this when a deep cross found the head of the returning Ramsey and he made no mistake. This goal however seemed to spur the away side on and they controlled the next phase of the game scoring two quick goals to take the lead. As the Heights tried to get into gear they were again caught out and the Seahawks seemed in control at 3-1. To get back into the game the home side needed something special and it was provided by Hutchinson who dribbled past three before finding the bottom corner with a superb finish. As the half approached the Rope Walk men were awarded a penalty and with Hollinger on the pitch the inevitable happened and he finished with his usual calmness. 3-3 at the break. Into the second and with a level playing field it started much the same as the first with both sides exchanging possession and trying to find a breakthrough. Eventually it was the home side who once again took the lead and it was some great endeavour and work from Quinn who got his reward with a fine goal. Surely now the points would be secure but this was not the case and credit to Portstewart they came back strong to force yet another equaliser to make it 4-4 and game was heading for a draw. That was until Hanna introduced McMullan who had returned to the squad and from a superbly executed pass from Ramsey on the right he applied the finish to secure a vital three home points. A great game all round that was only dampened by an injury to a young Portstewart player. Heights FC wish him a speedy recovery.
