Helen Vroman passed away at The Neighborhoods Nursing Facility in Columbia Aug. 11, 2013. She was 63 years of age. Helen Kay Vroman was born Sept. 23, 1949, in Springfield, Ill., to Kenneth E. and Sara F. (Peter) Allison. She was a graduate of Fayette High School class of 1967. She received an Associate Degree in Nursing in Rochester, Minn., and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New York in Albany. She married Donald Eugene Vroman April 19, 1974, and he preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2012. Helen worked as a Registered Nurse in the health care industry for a number of years. She was a devout member of Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin. Helen was a loving wife, mother, and a soldier for the Lord. Helen is survived by three sons, Donald Gene Vroman of Armstrong, Eric (Alisa) Vroman of Rocheport and Christopher (Amber) Vroman of Higbee, Mo.; her mother, Sara Allison of Armstrong; three brothers, Roger (Rhonda) Allison of Armstrong, Mark (Christina) Allison of Paola, Kan. and Peter Allison of Fayette; two sisters, Gayle Stevens of Armstrong and Diana Allison of Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday (today) at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin, with Pastor Rodney Haggett officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., the evening before the service, at Bible Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Sharon Cemetery in Armstrong. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bible Baptist Church, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service.
