Helensburgh will become a ghost town - Imps closed, Teak, - TopicsExpress

Helensburgh will become a ghost town - Imps closed, Teak, Rogarts, good old BJs (replaced with Farmfoods - sign of the times), Clyde Community Centre, Hermitage Park a fraction of what it was for kids, Osbournes and excuse my ignorance but I am sure other businesses, shops closing and opening as charity shops (no income from rates for council) and bookies. Imagine ten years ago it was a bustling Fri and Sat night in town, now it is dead - this is down to the already downsizing of naval personnel which is only going to get worse as many heads of Gov state it is a waste of money and UN state that countries have to downsize there nuclear power - USA will be removing 4 subs from their fleet. Our future is not certain with Westminster. Give us another ten years of the same and what will happen to Helensburgh?? We need to be exploring West of Scotland for oil which was halted by Westminster as the channels had to be kept free for nuke subs, continue investing in renewable energies, stop wasting 250 million a year on WMD and once the Barnett formula goes and we loose a further 4.4 billion how will we afford the same free services as we have now. Helensburgh is a ghost town sad to say it but true.
