Hell Yeah to the Pisces Swim Club athletes, parents and coaches for giving a Special Olympics athlete the opportunity to train and compete with some of the best swimmers in BC. When my son, David, was selected to Team BC to compete at the Canada Summer Games in 2013 and Special Olympics National Games 2014 he knew he had a lot of work ahead. David had never had a swimming lesson and although he worked hard enough to earn a spot on the team we all knew he needed to improve his techniques and endurance to compete at the National level. It was a challenge finding this opportunity for him until the Pisces Swim Club welcomed him. After training with them last season and all summer, David ended up with One Gold, Two Silvers and One Bronze at the Special Olympics National Games in July. Although he fell short of making Team Canada, he loves the Pisces swim family so much that he is continuing to train with them. He is very proud to be presented with the Pisces Team Spirit award. Thank you to PG Pisces Swim Club athletes, parents and coaches for recognizing this young man for his abilities and helping him reach his potential!
