Hello- we rescued Lisa nearly 2 years ago from a UK centre but she was originally from Spain. The rescues summer newsletter arrived and informed us that many of the 32 dogs they rescued at that time had died sadly from Leish. Lisa was poorly recently ( under the weather generally)had bloods but they didnt screen for this specifically and we have been advised it can lay dormant. I know it is easily treatable and cheap to manage if it did appear- can you advise what to look out for. or advice on next steps. I know stress or ops can bring it on - but shes been fine post operatively- we are not panicking here but surprised she wasnt previously tested as you guys do routinely .
