Hello Acrobats! Im Scott. Some of you know me. :) Ive been teaching standing partner acrobatics, and double-stunting, in Portland, for about 10 years. Ive also performed for the last 10 years as an acrobat with various groups based out of Portland, including Kazum, Wanderlust Circus, and most recently the Rose-city Acro Devils. We perform all along the west coast, but until recently Ive only ever offered training in Portland or at Burning Man. But now Im traveling to teach stunting workshops all around the west coast. Yay! Id like to visit Eugene on Friday 9/12 and Saturday 9/13. Im planning to offer two 3-hour workshops on each day: 2:00 - 5:00 - Beginning/Intermediate Partner Acrobatics 5:00 - 8:00 - Intermediate/Advanced Partner Acrobatics Each workshop costs $30 per person, which covers both days. No partner is necessary; stunt partners will be provided. The earlier class is designed for those with zero or little partner-acrobatics experience. First Ill explain stunting, including basing, flying, and spotting. Then well learn a series of 5 stunts that increase gently in level of difficulty. The remaining time will be spent learning additional stunts that will best serve the students who attend. The later class is designed for those who have substantial partner-acrobatics experience. Well start with Arm-to-Arms, Hand-to-Hands, and Foot-to-Hand Extensions. You need not have mastery of these skills, but you need to be familiar with them and capable of attempting them safely. The advanced class content depends heavily upon the skill level and desires of the students. We may work lots of H2Hs, or we may focus on double-stunts, pyramids and Basket Tosses. The wishes and abilities of the students will determine what we work on. Please note that the style of stunting I teach is not acro-yoga. The bases stand up and use their hands only to hold and balance the flyers - we wont be doing any L-Base stunts. Ive included some pictures below demonstrating the kinds of stunts I train people in.
