Hello Ahousaht Nation, the past month has been very exciting, interesting and exhausting, but all good. I would like to ask of the people what does transparency, accountability, inclusion and information sharing mean to our village and our nation? This should be pretty straight forward as transparency should mean every band member has the right to access detailed information regarding, funds, expenses and program details or guide lines. Accountability should mean every dollar reaches its targeted program and there is no over spending or unnecessary expenditures. Inclusion means all members are informed on all business regarding our community, nation and relationship with government and industry. Information sharing would mean door to door, community meetings, away from home meetings, newsletters and utilizing technology to ensure all membership is fully informed an all matters and to give membership the opportunity to raise any needs or concerns that are important to the people. The most important aspect of all this is the people here and away from home, what it comes down to is creating a healthy relationship of communication and respect.
