Hello All, Here is a bit of info on the competition for next year for your diaries. Auditions Dates Auditions 28 January Durban 29 January Bloemfontein 30 January Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth 31 January Cape Town 1-2 February Gaborone, Botswana 3 February Johannesburg 4 February Tshwane/Pretoria Finals and workshops The final rounds will take place on the weekend of 22 and 23 March 2014 and the week of workshops and masterclasses will take place 24-29 March, with the Gala concert on Saturday 29 March. Repertoire WHAT IS THE COMPULSORY REPERTOIRE FOR AMAZWI OMZANSI SINGING COMPETITION 2013? Please prepare 4 arias from the compulsory repertoire list: During auditions, each contestant performs one or two arias from our repertoire list. Both arias may be chosen by the singer. The jury may chose to hear only one aria at the audition but make sure you prepare and bring two arias. If chosen for the Semi-Finals in Durban, you will be required to have all four of your chosen arias ready when you come on stage. Two arias from the submitted repertoire may be performed. The first piece will be chosen by the singer, the other aria by the jury. For the Final, two arias chosen from the prescribed repertoire will be performed (chosen by the singer) and maybe different from what was offered at the auditions and Semi-Final or the same. PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT During auditions and the final round the Amazwi Omzansi Africa will arrange for an official piano accompanists and rooms for warm ups where possible. If competitors bring their own accompanists to auditions they may do so at their own expense. PIANO SCORES Contestants are required to bring two copies of clean filled scores to auditions and to the final round. One for the pianist and the other for the Jury. Those who have applied Terence is gradually writting to each and everyone one of you so expect an email from him soon with repertoire.
