Hello All, Mamma Buttons here. A few months ago Charlie was diagnosed with asthma. We began treatment and he seemed to be responding. However, over the last couple of days he didnt seem to be doing too well. He was at about 60 breaths per minute. This morning, Papa Buttons and I took Charlie to the Emergency Vet Hospital. They have kept him on oxygen and used several treatments to help him with his breathing. He had a new x-ray, which revealed that his lungs are getting worse. He was diagnosed with chronic granulosis inflammatory disease of the lung. This means there are nodules in his lungs that are making it difficult for him to breathe. However, the vet thinks that with treatment, Charlie should be able to maintain his current lung capacity. We are hopeful that Charlie will be OK. Tomorrow, we will collect Charlie from the ER and take him to his regular vet for next steps. We welcome your good thoughts and kind words at this time. We miss our boy very much.
