Hello Class 33 Parents/Guardians, Phone calls from your cadet - TopicsExpress

Hello Class 33 Parents/Guardians, Phone calls from your cadet are happening over the weekend (Sun- Aug 3-anytime of day between 0800 - 2100). Be prepared that you might get a call as early at Saturday for the first phone call. Saturday is not the standard; it is just to initiate communication early as the cadets are so excited to talk to you. When you get the call it will probably show as a restricted call so you wont see the number or it will be an 805. area code number. It will be a five minute call. I hope you enjoy your visit with them on the phone. If you miss your call from your cadet please know they will try periodically through the next week but chances are you may have to write them instead. Your next call will not be until two weekend’s from now, on a Sunday, August 17th, anytime of day between 0800 - 2100. Please also remember to write to your cadet and/or email your cadet through your cadet’s counselor’s email. If you don’t know who your cadet’s counselor is please refer to your parent hand book or call 1.800.926.0643 to ask. The mailing address to write to your cadet is: Grizzly Youth Academy Attention: Cadet- Last Name, First Name Platoon: # _____ P.O. Box 3209, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403 Very Important: Do NOT share bad news over the phone or by letter at anytime while they are attending GYA. If you have bad news to share or a family emergency, please contact your cadet’s counselor and they will work through the issue with you. Your cadet is here and it is important they remain focused on helping themselves find success. Please understand our counselors are very understanding and helpful in helping families through tough situations. They are trained in helping the family work with their cadet if bad news needs to be communicated. Thank you for stepping up to help your youth by supporting them 100%! Respectfully, WOC Simone Hosey
