Hello Connect family & supporters: Sending this reminder for our Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Learning project in partnership with our youth organization, Athletics & Beyond/Colorado Connect We are set for our Service Learning event at the Volunteers of America Family Motel/Shelter on MLK Day 1/19/15. Location: 4855 W. Colfax Denver CO 80204 (Just west of I-25 and Colfax) Time: 3-5pm Service: We will put together sack lunches and other donated items that will be delivered to the rooms/families of the VOA Motel. Whats Needed: The VOA Family Motel Wish-List is attached to this message. There are items that the motel can use for its daily use and also items we will deliver to individual families at the Motel. Whats Needed for sack lunches: We will fill at least 4 sack lunches per family or motel room that will consist of sandwich, chips, cookies, water, and fruit. To fill the sack lunches we will need: Bread, packs of lunch meat, bottled water, oranges, bananas, sandwich (Ziploc) bags, brown paper bags, and assorted cookies. The VOA Motel is making their kitchen area available for food prep and our coaches will bring food safety gloves. We would love to have more than enough food/supplies in order to leave extras with VOA. Two weeks away from our MLK Day Service Learning event! Lets make it a day of service.
