Anxious to share with all, a most amazing and inspiring video showing hundreds of people, especially the young, singing a rousing Do It Now! song in Belgium, promoting Action to Protect the Planet. Sing for the Climate is a big singing manifestation that first took place on September 22 and 23 2012 in Belgium. More than 80.000 people in more than 180 Belgian cities and communities sang the song Do it Now, urging politicians to take more ambitious climate measures both on local, national and international level. This video is a synthesis of recordings that were made in all locations. The success of Sing for the Climate proves that a mass mobilization around climate change is still possible even after the COP in Copenhagen. If you like the idea of using this video, and know of a way to access the cooperation of any owner of any public screen display, who would then be helping to promote the cause, please take the initiative to do so. This video, shown on large screens, even projected onto buildings, in Times Square and other prominent places around the city, can rouse the general public with its passionate message and its appeal to take action now! It will be inspiring for those of us who are already committed to participation to the activities surrounding the Peoples Climate March, to share this source of inspiration at our preliminary gatherings. Viewing this video, on occasions leading up to the Sunday, September 21st Peoples Climate March at our other planned gatherings, on September 10th and 16th, hosted by the New York Society for Ethical culture, will surely inspire more participation with its unifying song. I hope that it can be shown. I dont know what acoustical limitations our permit stipulate, but it would be so great if we can have a loud sound system that can play this rousing music along with our own contingent as we move through the streets.
