Hello District 5170! Today was my very last FLC as a high school student, but I would not have wanted this FLC to go ANY other way. From the very moment I stepped into that gym with my A7 foxes fam (HEY FOXES! HEY WHAT? HEY FOXES!) to when I was walking out to get picked up, the entire day filled me with renewed energy and inspiration. Two years ago I came into that same gym with no idea of what in the world I had gotten myself into. I literally clung onto the officers from my home club and kind of just stood by and watched everything unfold. I was so scared of being left behind, of being alone, because back then…it was a normal thing for me. Today, I not only had the chance to break barriers within my own club, but with every smile, every handshake, and every hello, I received, I broke my own barriers and finally had the chance to be loud, be proud and be my absolute real self. Im so sorry I only remember a few names (and even then I feel like I switched them otl) but you all made this girl’s last FLC the BEST! THANK YOU DYNAMO DC for everything you guys have done for all of us and all that you will do. The workshops the wristbands the presentations the setup the entire day, just everything. Without you, this day wouldnt have even happened. Thank you for the awesome new Interact cheer as well, it was stuck in my head the entire day and I cant wait to bring it back to my school. THANK YOU DISTRICT 5170 for always showing what Interact is really about. We are growing larger and larger each and every year. The FOUR THOUSAND INTERACTORS in that gym today has proven it. Each and every one of you moved me to tears during the unveiling of our projects. When all 4000 of us lit up that gym, I saw us lighting up the WORLD. When 4000 hearts filled the room, I could physically feel the amount of love and compassion you all had. Like what everyone else has said, this is OUR YEAR. WE are growing and accomplishing feats never seen before. WE are going to keep the legacy going to bring this indescribably amazing club higher and higher. Out of all the projects that weve had, Id have to say that this year, it really hit home, because this is one of the many things that Ive wanted to combat since childhood. To be able to work and serve alongside all of you is an honor, and I cannot wait to see what we will accomplish. L-O-V-E I LOVE D 5 1 70
