Hello Everyone! I just joined the group today. I have a nearly 19 month old son, Weston, with down syndrome and a typical daughter, Charlotte (shes 2.5). We actually live in Hartwell, GA, but were hoping to move to the Greenville area sometime next year. We used to attend the Hart County Buddy Walk, but they will no longer be doing the walk, so were looking for other local groups/ families to reach out to and get to know. We found out about Westons diagnosis before he was born. I had the quad screen done and then an amnio to confirm. Without the amnio we wouldnt have known until his birth that he has down syndrome. He didnt have any markers that they look for on any of my ultrasounds. He was born healthy and without any problems December 8, 2012. He seems to be developing within (what they tell me) the normal range. Currently he is cruising and walking with a push toy, or while holding your hands and can say several words. OT just got onto me, telling me that I need to write down every single word that he knows how to say. lol Were looking forward to being a part of a local community. Thank you so much for the add!
