Hello Everyone Its week number 4 for my Twisted cinema series of photos, Its another Christmas themed one and I have managed to cover a multitude of films, musicals, plays and a very famous book with this one, Its a scene from the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. I have always liked the story of a Christmas Carol and as Charles Dickens was born less than 3 miles from my house I thought I should do something suitable. Out of all the different films and musicals based on the original book I think the one I like the best is a Muppet Christmas Carol, the reason is simple, it is one of the few versions that brings the classic story to all ages of people (and the Muppets are awesome). I thought long and hard about what scene to make and I kept going back to Jacob Marley visiting scrooge in his bedroom. I started with building Jacob Marley’s head and for this I used the Phileas Flash head design (instructions available on DVD from flashballoons/). Once I had the head I slowly built up the body adding the arms, legs and finally the chains, the final sculpture stood at over 7ft tall. Next I wanted to build up the final photograph and I took most of the photos in the spare bedroom including the one of me. In total the final photo is made up of 5 separate pictures, Jacob Marley is made up of 2 photos (the second picture being the glow behind him) then there is me, the floor and finally the black background. The final thing to do was add the wording and I wanted to add a quote from the actual scene in the book and the quote I used seemed to fit. I am currently not sure what to do for next weeks film scene, I have a good one in mind but I am still looking for other options as it will be Christmas week so I want a really good one.
