Hello Everyone, Merry Christmas! I don’t know if you have - TopicsExpress

Hello Everyone, Merry Christmas! I don’t know if you have been following Skylah’s journey for the last 3 years but if you haven’t then you might not understand the joy we have as a family right now. Skylah and our family’s last normal Christmas was in 2010. So, instead of a hospital room, instead of machines beeping, chemo drips, nurses poking and tears of pain and frustration we are sitting on a Costa Del Sol beach appreciating the sun, sea and sand! But most importantly we appreciate our family being together - healthy and normal! We decided to come away to mark this occasion and even though we are really missing family, we need this new start to Christmas. We’ve had many Christmas’s within sad environments, so palm trees and sea air are welcomed and enjoyed. Since my last email life is really good. The kids love school, Skylah has naturally adapted to nursery and lives a normal happy life. We still have some nights of missing family or their dog but that is only to be expected. The house we bought is slowly taking shape and we are due to move in January. We still feel so blessed that we get to make changes to the house to design it how we like it and to have the garden space for the kids. Skylah actually celebrated her 4th birthday around her actual birthday time and not like the past, months later. She had a magical time with Tinkerbell coming to play with her along with her friends and there were truly many prayers that were answered in that one celebration. Seeing her with friends, running and laughing – something she has always longed for but could never have! I hope that we will never take life for granted again because we live life now full of appreciation for what we have. There is a photo below of Skylah wearing her Spanish dress today, of her Birthday and our time here in Spain. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Saviour, I have renewed understanding and excitement of what it means. To me it’s really about the HOPE that God places in our hearts when we believe in Jesus. Hope is believing that the best is yet to come. Hope allows us to persevere through fear and pain. Hope is believing that nothing is impossible with God. Hope is about trusting God completely with your life and future no matter what happens. Jesus gives us hope for a life that lasts beyond the worries of this life, hope of eternity with Him. God sent Jesus to save the world and to give us hope, because without it, wed give up! Our hope and faith in God is what saved not just Skylah’s life but our whole family’s life. We are putting a big sign,’ HOPE’ on our kitchen wall because it has such significant meaning to our family. Whatever you have to deal with or go through this Christmas time, may you too find the hope in Jesus to not give up but to keep on going. Romans 5:4 “We know that suffering produces perseverance, from perseverance character, and from character, hope”. All my love, Zelease
