Hello Everyone. We are home in Hamilton again :) We arrived home last night after being discharged yesterday afternoon. Tuesday Ivy tested positive to Parainfluenza which is a type of The Flu. We then had to be isolated so as to not pass it on to anyone in the Oncology ward. There is not to much that can be done antibiotic wise with paraflu, so we just have to ride it out. Isolation at home is a lot more fun than on ward (no offence R.C.H peeps :) Ivys neutrophils (which is basically her rate of working immune system) has bottomed out as her little body has tried to fight it off. Since she is now neutropenic we will be laying low for now as this means Ivy is at high risk of picking up any bugs going around or developing a secondary infection. Ivy is a bit tired and a bit pale looking today but her appetite is returning and she is very happy to be home. Thank you to everyone for the lovely messages of love and support for Ivy. To all the new Onc Mums I have meet in recent weeks, sending you love, hope, strength and all the very best to you lovely ladies xxxx
