Hello FB world, Its been brought to my attention once again that I havent been posting much farm updates on here lately. I have good intentions, just seem to be really busy or too tired at the end of the day. Lol. My day started about 7am, ate a quick breakfast (a bowl of left over soup), then headed out to feed. When I got to the rabbits, finally my 4th rabbit started nesting. I have 4 rabbits due tomorrow and 3 of them started nesting a week ago, my 4th one finally started nesting this morning and guess what? About noon, my 4th rabbit had her babies ( one day early). HAPPY DANCE. My other 3 does are ready to go, their nest are ready, I have them all wrapped and insulated and I also have a heat lamp above each one. So as you can probably already guess, I will be up and down all night running out to the barn to check on my babies. As for our goats, Bella and Nanny are doing great, getting bigger and bigger each day. Their due in 7 and 8 weeks. Im thinking that Bella is having twins, shes getting huge. Ham and Beans are doing well also, Beans is so much bigger, more of a pig. Lol. Just means more pork chops and bacon. Hes not for off from taking a little trip, if you know what I mean. Lol. And yes, we still have the 2 baby pigs in our basement, they have gotten a little spoiled to the heated matt and nice room temperatures. Not sure how long we can keep them there, but as for now, they have it made. DJ was off work yesterday, so we went to the sale barn and watched cattle prices. I think we have decided to take about 10 of my babies off, they may be about 500 to 600 pounds, but their still MY BABIES. Next Thursday, I think is the day, going to be a hard day for me. Not gonna lie, I will probably shed a few tears. Oh, gotta talk about Bucker, he is such a hoot. He is my pride and joy, ornery as can be. Hes starting to get so big and buff. I will try to post new pictures of him tomorrow. I still keep him up in the stable. Im just not ready to put him out in the pasture with the big cows yet. HES MY BABY. Sampsons doing pretty good, he has graduated and been put out to pasture. I have to watch him pretty close though, I have learned that there is also a pecking order with cows. Just like chickens, cows boss and bully also. And they know that Sampson wasnt raised with them, he came a few months after the other ones were already bottle broke. So I baby him as much as I can, but its time for him to be in the pasture. :( :( :( I have been fighting these darn freezing temps and frozen water buckets. Its been a real pain in my ass. Today I moved the old rubber cattle water trough (its been my boys swimming pool for the past 18 years) and gave it to the cows. I also put a water heater in it, yea me. That only solves one water problem, but one is better than none. I have spent over half my day outside in this cold ass weather and all I can say is, good thing I love my animals. Lol. I did find time today to paint the last coat of trim for Evelyns bedroom. Hoping we get to start putting the wood flooring down tomorrow. Shes past ready to get into her new room. Well its getting time for my Jacuzzi and I still have to go check again on my rabbits. Also, Charlie ran off again today so I have to yell for him. Lol. Hope you all have a great evening. :) ) :)
