Hello Facebook You arent rid of me yet :D As a community - we were able to feed many hungry families for Thanksgiving. Not only did you supply these families with Thanksgiving dinner... you supplied them with additional food to help them out with Thanksgiving week as well. As Christmas approaches, both Kelly McClanahan-Mendez and I are getting overwhelmed with families requesting help for the holiday. Yesterday alone - I received 12 requests for various type of aide. The need in our community is very real and the families are needing just a push to get them into a better place. While Kelly and I are working on the requests for warm clothing and other needs - we do have families that need a food basket for Christmas. If you havent donated food items to one of the many collections happening on here.... would you consider helping us out??? PLEASE dont hurt your own situation or family to help another..... just look around your kitchen..... can you spare a few cans of soup - a can of vegetables - peanut butter and jelly???? We will combine these cans to make food baskets. I know that my family would not miss a box of Mac and Cheese but to a family without food.... that one box means they wont be hungry for at least one meal..... Please and thank you and as always - I am available to run pick ups, Kelly has her home open as a collection point in Steger on Green Street and we now have added Kathy Ann Hamilton who will open her home as a collection point in Crete.
