Hello Falcon Family, Now that our seasons have finally - TopicsExpress

Hello Falcon Family, Now that our seasons have finally concluded, we can take a break and exhale for a little while. As you go about life over the next few months, we will still be actively recruiting for our spring season, so be on the look-out for players. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts with you going forward. If football were just a game of fundamentals, i.e., blocking, tackling, passing, and kicking, our dedication would not be as strong. If it were just about win – loss records it probably would not be worth all the effort the coaches and players put in this year. I feel we will give your son many opportunities to grow both mentally and physically. Fundamentals must be stressed, but we believe the philosophy he learns in football can be taken into all other phases of life. I want your son to have every opportunity to become a fine football player, but more importantly I want him to become a gentleman and be better prepared to lead a productive life as the result of having played football. I believe the key to a good football program is discipline and commitment. “Discipline”: Do what has to be done! When it has to be done! As well as it can be done! Do it that way all the time! “Commitment” is what transforms a promise into reality. It is the words that speak of your intentions and the actions that speak louder than words. It is making time when there is none; it is the stuff character is made of. These characteristics do not cease when your son has played his last football game. Discipline and commitment cause a young man to get up when he gets knocked down – he will get knocked down in football and in life, therefore he must learn to get back up. I ask our players to do these things: Do what is right! (Discipline). Do your best! (Commitment). Treat others right! (Be a teammate). I hope you are proud of what your son has accomplished this season, despite all the distractions they have faced, both on and off the field. Theyve survived when the odds where stacked against them. I am proud of each of our players and I would like to thank you for letting us take part in coaching your son. See you in the spring! GO FALCONS!!! Coach D
