Hello Fans, first off I want to thank you all for your continued commitment and support of my page. It means a ton that you all put your trust in my abilities and forecasts. Over the last year as you know I have been trying to think of ways to make this platform better. As you know Social Media is quickly becoming the primary source of information for people. There are a few simple reasons for this. One reason is availability. You no longer have to wait for specific times to receive information.You receive information in real time, before its news. The second reason is interactivity. This is the part I think we can improve on. How can I have a better conversation with my fans? One of the more reoccurring concerns I get from friends and fans alike is their ability to fully understand the forecast. While the information I provide is accurate and far beyond anything you’ll get watching the News or other pages. You simply don’t understand it. When I originally created this page, it actually was to be a place to keep my forecasting skills honed in and to also use it as an educational tool. With time it has become one of the central pillars of weather information in the Tri-State. How do we take the next step from that? We have to become better communicators. First step of this will be eliminating the ‘details’. Of course that has a very different meaning depending on your source. Detail for my page is the science and “Why” meteorologically the event will occur. Being a Meteorologist, I am one of the only people who actually go out of the way to justify my forecast with science, and tell you exactly why it will work that way. While I will still do my analysis, I will just keep that information to myself, and then simplify it for you. Now, the new part. Vlog – Video Blogging is something I’ve actually always wanted to do. There are millions of ‘YouTubers’ that do this for different genres. But never, as far as I can tell, has it been done in the context of weather. I want to somehow incorporate this into my day to day forecasting. Not quite sure how that will work yet, but it is something I want to do. In addition, Tristate Wx and I still want to launch a premium service for the area. This would not be free, but would provide a more personalized approach to forecasting, and you get me as you “Personal Meteorologist”. Planning a Trip? Your business depend on an accurate minute by minute forecast? Have an event and need a professional to keep an eye on the weather? How about snow removal, it would be nice to know well ahead of time where the snow will likely fall and how much, BEFORE its news. Lawn Services, Farmers? That is the kind of service we want to launch. Tentatively this service will be called, “Tri-StateWx Solutions” it will be a consulting type of business that can only truly be done by a fully certified, degree Meteorologist.
