Hello Fat Tire Riders, Excitement is building for the Sunday, March 16th Biscayne - Everglades Greenway Fat Tire ride which will commence with no fee required at 9:00am from: Everglades National Park Coe Visitors Center 40001 State Road 9336 Homestead, FL 33034-6733 The proposed Biscayne-Everglades Greenway, the only greenway connecting 2 national parks will eventually be paved but a large portion is unpaved & rough, so fat tire mountain bikes are required. Construction is beginning on the eastern portion of the Biscayne-Everglades Greenway with a new bridge across canal 31e just outside Biscayne National Park and soon signs will be installed at each park, Homestead, and Florida City to create awareness and guide riders along the greenway. Fat tire mountain bike riders of all abilities are invited with less experienced riders encouraged to opt for shorter rides. Streets will not be marked as in past years, so riders must navigate with paper maps available at start or mapmyride below on electronic devices. You will have a choice of 3 distances - The full 42 Mile Biscayne Everglades Greenway Loop (6hrs), a 24 mile Loop(4hrs), or a 16 mile loop (3hrs).There is no fee, but HELMETS & FAT TIRES ARE REQUIRED and the ride is unsupported so bring water, snack, spare tube, & pump.
