Hello Fellow Biodynamic Agricultural Enthusiasts and Farmers Alike, I would like to inform you of my upcoming involvement with the 29th Annual CFSA (Community Farm Stewardship Association) Sustainable Agriculture Conference in Greenville, South Carolina this November 10-12th, 2014. ->The conference brochure with specifics on the conference including all the activities, conferences, registration, and directions you will need can be found at the following website address: carolinafarmstewards.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/SACBrochure14_Brochure.pdf. ->On my website you can also find a flyer for the other conferences I am going to be speaking at during the Hugh Lovel and Shabari Bird US Speaking Tour at quantumagriculture/hugh-lovel-and-shabari-bird-us-speaking-tour. ->I am leading a pre-conference activity called Introduction to Biodynamics from 1-6 PM on Monday, November 10th, 2014. The cost of the pre-conference activity is $60 dollars for Members and $75 dollars for Non-Members. I have added the description of the focus for this activity below: Learn about biodynamic farming from one of the nations leading experts, Hugh Lovel, author of A Biodynamic Farm and the newly published, Quantum Agriculture: Biodynamics and Beyond. Hugh has broad experience in biodynamic farming; he spent over 35 years operating a market farm and the first CSA in Georgia. His farm was home to the annual Southeast Biodynamic Conference for a decade. Use of biodynamic preparation greatly improves soil health resulting in: healthy humus formation; mineral retention and availability; improved crumb structure and tilth; beneficial soil microbes, including nitrogen fixers; rhyzobial activity (nodulation) on legumes; soil animal life from protozoa to earthworms; improved absorption and retention of water; fine, highly developed, robust root systems; and improved nutrient uptake by plants. Hugh will cover this and more in this not-to-be- missed workshop! I hope that you can attend this wonderful conference, it is the farming and agriculture event of the year! Please, spread the word and pass this information on to your friends and/or colleagues at Universities, CSAs, Farmers Markets, Youth Organizations, or any other place you find fit.
