Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today...September 19, 2014.. Dear Heavenly Father, Please comfort those who mourn and those who are feeling lost and alone. Please speak peace to those whose lives are in chaos. Please help hope to rise in dry, parched places. Help us to remember things like the caterpillar and the butterfly…what looks like the end, is really a new beginning. When you were crucified, it looked like all was lost, but actually you won it all…you brought new life from death. You make all things beautiful in your time, Lord. You waste nothing in our lives. You redeem and restore and bring beauty from ashes. You bring day after night. Spring after winter. Healing after grief. Diamonds from coal. Pearls from sand. Greater fruit after pruning... In our humanness, we often think in finite terms. We usually see the bad before good. Our first reaction to change, is rarely that something good will follow. All throughout your Word…all throughout nature, we see how change can bring many joyful blessings…but it usually takes awhile to see the good things emerge and sometimes, it comes after pressure, loss and irritants being in our lives. Help us not to resist change, Lord. Help us to have eyes to see the good in the bad. Help our unbelief. May our faith grow to the point that our first response to adversity is, “I can’t wait to see what God brings forth from this.” Help our hearts to be always filled with joyful anticipation to see what you will work together for good in our lives and in our world. As believers, we should be lights in the darkness. The salt of the earth. A beacon on a hill pointing the way to you. Our countenance should inspire others to seek out the source of our joy and our peace. We grieve in this life, but not as those who have no hope. May we have the courage to live what we say we believe. Lord, we know many have heavy hearts today, but in the midst of sorrow and adversity, may they remember the joy of their salvation. May they remember the joy of the Resurrection morning, when you defeated death and rose again. May we remember the many times you have rescued us…blessed us… answered our prayers and shown your love to us. May the joy and peace of those memories sustain us through the hard times. Lord we give you this day and all that is in it. Please go before us. Help us to remember to make time to take in the beauty that surrounds us. May we take pleasure in simple moments and small victories. We love you Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen. Blessings be upon you all! Much love in Him, Debbie
