Hello Friends! Its that time of year again where we need your help in making Operation Warm Blanket Donation a success! We wouldnt be able to do this without you. A few years ago, Rylie, Hayley, Marlee and I decided to create a little Operation that would allow us to reach out to some of the children in our area by giving them a gift to keep them warm and to provide a sense of love and peace. We knew that we were going to have to enlist in all of our friends and family to make it successful. We have teamed up with Fit For Me and Safe Harbor Crisis Center. Fit For Me in Kennewick and Richland will be the donation drop off headquarters this year. The Kennewick Fit For Me is also the location where we will be meeting to assemble all the blankets for delivery. Safe Harbor Crisis Center is where we will be delivering all the blankets that we are able to gather. Many of the young children that we give these warm blankets to have been traumatized in their short little lives. Often times, these precious children seem to have a great response to the fleece blankets. The feel of the fleece is extremely soothing and very therapeutic for them. Last year, we were able to gather almost 130 blankets from our wonderful community. Thank you. This year, lets see if we can break 150! We will gladly accept any blankets that you may have. The girls and I, along with anyone else that can join us, will be writing sweet little letters to go along with each and every blanket. We will tie them nicely with ribbon and attach a packet of hot cocoa and a pair of mittens for each child. We understand that this time of year is so busy for everyone. But more than that, it is so darn cold! If you can help us out by gathering any extra blankets that you may have and put them aside for us, it would be appreciated more than words can say. We will all be helping to provide a warm, cozy Christmas for a special little person. We will be collecting these blankets between November 29th and December 20th. We will have an assembly day at Fit For Me in Kennewick on December 21st at 4:00pm...along with some yummy treats hot cocoa and coffee. All are welcomed to join us. We will then deliver the gifts to Safe Harbor Crisis Center on December 23rd . I will make a blanket pick-up day on December 17th, which is on a Tuesday, for those that are not able to drop them by the gym. If you can help out, please let me know and we will make it work!
