Hello Friends, This is my second Facebook update on my - TopicsExpress

Hello Friends, This is my second Facebook update on my candidacy for Fargo City Commission, which is on the ballot June 10. Im sincerely hoping to have all of your support as that election approaches, and if not, Im hoping to get a chance to earn your endorsement. There are seven names on the ballot. Its a full slate of candidates with substantial public service and name recognition. My guess is this race will heat up more and more each week. I sincerely need lots of help. We are ordering our first batch of yard signs this weekend. As you can perhaps imagine, our yard signs will capture attention and interest. That will be the foundation of my campaign effort. Every yard sign represents a personal contact and a commitment of support. Its grassroots at its best. The signs will be larger than typical signs youll see across town in yards. Our visual theme for yard signs, business cards, and social media online translates into, I Stand With Strand. If you are willing to let me place a yard sign on your property, please private message your address to me. If you are willing to commit to placing five or ten signs in yards of others you know, thanks in advance for that terrific show of support. If you have a balcony or public space suitable for a vinyl banner, by all means let me know that as well. If you are up for making a monetary contribution, thats also a need we have, of course. The biggest need, however, is to get people talking and voicing their support for what Id bring to the City Commission if elected. So you know, in this race, Strand stands for: * Affordable Housing * Tenant rights and protections * Rebuilding our core inner city, especially around neighborhood schools Simply put, and quoting The Forums front page news article announcing my candidacy, We need to take care of what weve got. Karen Stoker at the Hotel Donaldson has scheduled a meet and greet in her fabulous hotel for Wednesday night, April 30. If you would like to attend, please RSVP in advance to karen@hoteldonaldson. Doug Burgum is scheduling an event in his recently renovated Loretta Building for early May. More information on these events will follow. The League of Women Voters is hosting the City Commission Candidate Forum Saturday, April 26, at 9:50 a.m. You are invited to attend in person, to ask questions, or to watch it on Channel 2 TV. If you have a desire to volunteer in any way, we need folks to canvass friends and neighbors with phone calls and with disseminating business cards that highlight my platform and remind people to vote June 10. The PayPal account that direct deposits funds into our campaign account is: goo.gl/cE75hv. If you share this PayPal link online, please identity it as such, otherwise people may not readily know what it’s for and why you are sharing it. Its one thing for me to stand for others. This race, if I am to win, truly rests on the shoulders of those who stand with me. Thanks very sincerely. I will do my level best to continually stand up for what is right for the people and for the greater public good. John Strand Candidate for Fargo City Commission
