Hello From Stitch and his family! Our Story: Josh and I started - TopicsExpress

Hello From Stitch and his family! Our Story: Josh and I started researching dog breeds in May 2014 after we had passes some Vizslas while on a walk in Chicago. He fell in love with this breed and so did I. However, I have always had a HUGE passion and love for Weims thus began our search looking for both breeds. Many of our friends had rescued dogs before and encourages us to go down this path. We were a little nervous at first, so we kept looking for breeders while doing our research on rescue dogs. While on a bike ride in Madison, there was a guy (Rich or Rick I believe) who had a Weim and I put on the breaks and said we have to go ask that guy where he got his Weim from and thats when we found out about Iowa Weim Rescue. After our bike ride we came home and I immediately jumped onto your website and looked at available dogs and there he was, Stitch, the dog of our dreams. A mix of both breeds we loved with all the qualities we could have asked for, so we applied. I kept telling Josh, we are never going to get him...he is just too perfect! Then I got a pre screening call and I was THRILLED! Then I got an e-mail to connect me with his foster mom Bridget and I just could not believe it...is this really happening?! I called Bridget and we talked for almost an hour. I had lots of questions and by the end of the conversation we were ready to schedule a date for us to meet Stitch. On June 14th, we packed up the car at 5am and made the 5 hour trip to Iowa to meet our little boy! We got there and within the first few moments Stitch was circling between Joshs legs (sign of affection and love) and we were even more in love. We spent some time with Bridget and her family and when she asked us if we still wanted him we both answered yes without hesitation! We took him home and the rest is history. I was walking through a store the other day and there was a sign saying who rescued who with a paw print and it could not have been a more true statement. Not only are we completely in love with him, but our families have fallen in love with him as well. His aunts, uncles and grand parents are so in love with him and cant believe how good he is. His grandparents spoil their grand pup as if he is a little human. The pictures below are from Joshs parents house while we were home for Thanksgiving. He may not be 100% Weim, but he is our dream come true and we cherish everyday with him, even when he is being a little stinker! Many thanks to all you and all the volunteers do for these dogs. Especially to Bridget for taking in Stitch and showing him the good life so that he could come into our lives and make ours lives so much better!
