Hello Gays! Im thinking/hoping 3rd times a charm looking for a roommate. Ive had a few good folks come through, but no one that I felt like was the one, or at least the one for the time being! Im looking for a considerate, down-to-earth, friendly, and responsible roommate to share my wonderful apartment with me. Apartment: Very unique! Separate entrance, 2 bedrooms upstairs, large eat-in kitchen and big living room downstairs (yes, the apartment is 2 floors!). Your room is medium sized, about 10x11 - room for a queen bed, dresser, desk, etc. There is a private, completely redone backyard with hammock, planters with veggies, fire-pit and picnic table. It was a labor of love and feels like a retreat! The apartment comes completely furnished besides your room, wood and tile floors, and has victorian details all around. Youd be sharing the apartment with me and my wonderful sweet pup, who I co-parent. Perfect if you love dogs but dont have your own. I am also vegetarian and prefer to keep meat out of the house, but am open to you cooking meat on occasion in your own pans. Location: 41st and Broadway in Oakland - a great neighborhood in the center of Piedmont Ave, Temescal and a 10-minute walk to BART You: Im looking for someone that feels comfortable to live with, where we can share space while doing our own things. Ideally you would have a balance of activities and work/school outside the home, but still like to hang out there on occasion. You are responsible and in your late 20s or 30s - and dont see their home as the hub of social activity. Me: Mid 30s, queer woman, graphic designer for nonprofits, engaged in social justice. I have a pretty active lifestyle, play softball a few times a week, and have a wonderful community. I have a healthy social life, but also appreciate the ability to plop down on the couch and re-watch an episode of the WIRE, biding my time till the next season of Orange Is The New Black. Im very social but need me time to recharge. Details: Room = $850 a month, plus half of utilities which runs $65-$90 depending on the season and includes phone/dsl, gas/electric and cheap cable tv. Slightly flexible on move-in date for the right person and term of lease is negotiable.
