Hello, Here is the monthly communication for September. Please forward to your military contacts to spread awareness of information and resources available through Military OneSource. Thank you! I have met some amazing people and built meaningful friendships while working and volunteering in the military community. However, with the reality of the mobile military life, making connections can be challenging to some people. With relocations that take you to different parts of the world, it can seem impossible to find a stable career or create long-term friendships. This month, we are focusing on how military families can establish connections and build relationships and successful careers no matter where they are. Whether its networking with other military spouses or partners to expand your career options or getting to know your neighbors after a PCS move, Military OneSource has tips and ideas for how you can make meaningful connections no matter where life takes you! Caregivers may have to assume the role of surrogate decision-maker for their wounded service member, help with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, among a myriad of other tasks. This session will describe how to respect the autonomy of the warrior as a surrogate decision-maker. Yet, the surprises are what make most people feel that their privacy is being infringed. It’s not that we don’t want to share, it’s that we want to understand exactly how and with whom we are sharing. However, the privacy settings are often confusing and difficult to find. Participants in this webinar will gain a better appreciation for online privacy, and leave better equipped to adjust their own privacy settings in Facebook. While the focus will be on particular settings in Facebook, the principles will be applicable for many social networks. Presented by Stephen Judd.
