Hello History Club-ers! I know that the lovely Jennifer Marie Wegmann-Gabb and Jessie Lēe Shattuck brought up and registered the history club for the water walk. However, as the organizer of the walk (and a former history person myself) I wanted to give some information about Tanzania Development Support and the water walk for anyone who isnt familiar! Who: Tanzania Development Support, CLCE Student Association, and you! When: 2-4 PM October 16, 2014 Where: MLK Commons What: A water walk! For two hours, volunteers (you!) will walk around the MLK Commons with jugs of water. Others (your friends and family!) will sponsor you. This helps to reach the goal of gathering $2500 dollars to assist in building a library that will benefit several schools in rural Tanzania. As well, the simple act of participating will help to raise awareness for the plight of girls in Tanzania who often are forced to give up study time to walk for several hours and gather unclean water for their family. How to Help: Use this link (tdsnfp.org/water-walk) to join the History Club team in order to walk and raise money. You can share this link through Facebook, e-mail, Twitter or any other social media platform to encourage friends and family to donate! By participating, youll not only be helping to support the education of children, often the best chance of lifting a family out of poverty, but the group that raises the most money will get official bragging rights and be listed on the Tanzania Development Support webpage as the highest contributor! For any questions/assistance, feel free to contact me at: [email protected]
