Hello! I am Ike, a 7-year-old male peach-front conure. I am new to my foster home but it didnt take me very long to decide I liked my foster family. My favorite thing to do it sit on a tall glass of ice water on the kitchen counter and help with dishes. I even talk conure-jargon to the ice cubes. I think I was supposed to be a fish because I also love talking showers with my foster mommy. I also give kisses once I trust you. I do step up, but I do not like it when my foster folks try to touch me or scratch my head. I prefer to sit with them and be near them in the same room, on my own terms. I tend to get a little nippy when I get overwhelmed and want to be left alone – so you have to learn to watch my cues. I spend the majority of the day out of the cage which I really love!. At night time, when I start to get tired I put myself to sleep by crawling into my sleeping hut. I sleep until 8am the next morning. I am not a noisy bird but will alert you when someone or another animal is outside. I was primarily on a diet that consisted of seeds, but my foster mommy has been feeding me a healthier diet of pellets and fresh fruits and veggies. I may be slightly protective of my cage, but my foster mommy has been working with me and it seems to be getting better. My previous owner and new foster mommy both have busy homes and I am used to children, dogs, and cats. I am a wonderful little sweet guy that loves companionship. Please come meet me very soon!
