“Hello! I am Mr. Sam McKee. I was also in the grooming competition at the Atlanta Pet Fair event. Boy, did they make me pretty! I even smiled for them. I may be 11 years old, but I have SO much joy and life in me! I used to have a fabulous home, but…. Time to move on! I’m beautiful, sweet and love to give you kisses. Please help find me a forever home.” ★ SAM McKEE ★ This Miniature Poodle boy named, “Sam McKee” is available for adoption! VIDEO: https://youtube/watch?v=5Yk8ydJfL9A Sam McKee recently went to Atlanta Pet Fair on March the 8-9th. He came down the 8th, spent the night at a volunteer’s house and went to the rescue rodeo the 9th. On Saturday Sam McKee and his friends (that were participating in the pet fair) were unloaded into the volunteers back yard. They romped and played until it was time to go inside and sleep for the night. Everyone woke up before the rooster crowed and headed over to the Hilton hotel to get ready for the rodeo. Sam McKee went back to get a bath and to get started on grooming around 8 AM. He was wonderful through the whole process and came out beautiful. Sam McKee didnt place but he was a champion to us. He even got to walk around the hotel after the show and meet a lot of people. Sam McKee was so happy to get the extra attention. Sam McKee isnt a new face at Carolina Poodle Rescue. Way back in 2004, a couple adopted him as a 1-year old bouncing baby miniature poodle. They took very good care of little Sam, but when Sam was 10 the wife passed away. Sam had been her dog--her furchild. She loved him dearly. But once she was gone, the husband moved on and got married. Wife #2 said . . . Sams gotta go. So, back Sam came to CPR. It is a terribly sad thing to have a 10 year old poodle returned. He knows what life in a home has been like. It makes him very sad also to come back to the farm. Sam lost his home. Can we change that? Sam is a very beautiful poodle with a nice confirmation and a pretty coat. He has light colored eyes and a beautiful cafe au lait coat. When Sam first returned to us, he didnt like the other dogs very much. He had been an only pet and he really liked. Over the last few months, as hes adjusted to life at the Farm, hes learned that canine buddies can be fun. His best buddy recently was adopted and he’s VERY ready for his own home! Even though Sam is having fun now, its not the same as the pampered pooch he once was. Its not the same as having a person or people he could call his own. He could use some love and kisses, some baths and some brushing. Hed love to have someone take him for a walk--he walks very well on a leash. Although Sam is lonely for his mom who died, he is ready to love again. He is easy to care for; he doesnt mind being groomed. The best home for Sam would be one with no young kids but he could do well with older, sensible kids aged 12 and up. We dont know about cats, but he might like having a dog companion if the dog was laid back. His top pick would be a home where he was the one and only again.
