Hello. I am Neil Taylor, fishing guide, outdoor writer/speaker, radio show host and the owner of capmel. For those who have not met me or have not heard about the interaction with the state of Floridas Florida Wildlife Commission the past 15 months, I am offering an opportunity for your voice to be heard moving forward with decisions on resource management. Quite simply: Getting in touch with me and giving a little bit of information about yourself, you will be connected to our new Panel and also to the state biologist community as well. The Panel is something that will be a tool that will eliminate any one person from having to do it all and gives us a tool to work with the infrastructure to convey valuable information that will help them to make better decisions on our resources. I have already delivered a list of some items of concern and it has been requested that there be a snook summit set up, something that hasnt happened since years before the catastrophic freeze in 2010. I will share information as that takes shape. The panel itself: A few people already nominated and seconded but we will definitely add a significant number of people to it. This is not just about snook. It started from that but this is about everything moving forward. This effort was ultimately to try to reconnect the fishing community with the legislative/administrative system. It is now going to actually happen. Now that it is, I want to expand the people who are involved. I had extensive contact with guides up and down the Gulf coast. But I did not access everyone and for this program, we want involvement from people in every single part of Florida. I will make a big effort but I would appreciate your help. This will also be for offshore matters as well. I will not personally be part of this sub-panel but we will make an effort to get the right people involved for those issues. I made another attempt to get the FWC to talk to our panel of stakeholders after previous attempts led to we will see you in 2015 response. Anyone who would like to see that interaction, let me know and I will send it. I did not accept their responses about their decisions being correct nor that it is appropriate to wait to start building for a better future now. And because of that, after lengthy efforts, they have agreed. The bottom line: They couldnt argue that this kind of program is an error. It is a shame it took so much effort to get to this point but it doesnt matter anymore. It is here. I would like you to spread this to others and get them to join into this system. This could be fishing guides, fishing club presidents, serious anglers and any other industry partners who are very experienced in Florida waters. We hope that we can involve as much of the fishing community as possible. I will be broadcasting this information out very publicly in the near future. Please feel free to contact me with your recommendations and ideas. I thank you for your interest in and dedication to our Florida resources.
