Hello. I am a moderate Muslim and I reject ISIS. Actually, the majority of Muslims in my country reject ISIS. Sounds new? Maybe it doesnt really make for good headlines. Have you ever heard of Indonesia? We have the largest population of Muslims in the world - around 200 million of us, in fact. Indonesia is a vibrant democracy. We are very diverse, with many voices and opinions. Unfortunately, were facing the ISIS threat in our own country. We have small but loud groups of Islamic radicals and extremists who would like to change our nation from a secular, pluralistic one to a Caliphate, by peaceful or violent means. Some of them even support ISIS. But that doesnt mean we agree with them. The government, ulemas (religious leaders), and all sectors of society have condemned ISIS. There have been peaceful demonstrations to reject them. So far, we have been able to keep them out. Please dont hate me, and dont hate peaceful Muslims. The world needs to stand together to fight ISIS.
