I have two questions for you lot, I wonder if anyone can help me out? 1) Im looking to restore my Kings South Africa Medal to its former glory (pictured with a copy medal I hope to make it resemble). Can anyone help me with where to by genuine clasps, ribbons and suspender bars (as my current suspender is missing the pin, as shown) in the darker silver of my medal? Also, what is the significance of swivling suspenders? My Q.S.A.Medal swivels but the K.S.A.Medal does not, why the differing of swivels? 2) Ive noticed that this medal appears to be a darker tone of silver in comparison with most other medals Ive seen (pictured with a Q.S.A.Medal). Can anyone tell me why this is? Ive noticed the same with many General Service Medals. Ive heard that common wealth medals can be made of different materials, or is this a result of aging???
