Hello, I hope I am ok to write this. I have recently got married and I see several posts for people wanting photographers. I have experienced 2 weddings in the last 18 mths. One my own and one a family member. We had different photographers. My family members photographer came recommended with the venue. All I can say honestly is they were very disappointed with the results. 500 photographs were promised. 237 were delivered. Many of the photos actually were duplicated and put behind other photos in the album. The photographer was asked not to put their photos on Facebook. The next day, their photos were on the photographers Facebook profile for all to see. This photographer seemed very impatient and just seemed to want to rush all the photos. The photos all seemed to be similar to other weddings just different people/venue.. Whilst a lot of people seem to recommend this photographer, I cannot stress enough, research your photographer. Check their portfolio, ask them questions, cheap isnt always better. If a photographer has or hasnt photographed in your venue, this isnt an issue. You want your photos to be unique to your day. Your memories. Many photographers have the opportunity to work at new venues, great, a fresh pair of eyes. Many have already photographed at your chosen venue, great, they know where the best place is to have photos. I stumbled across my photographer at a small wedding fayre. I am so glad I did. The photographer I had was patient and took some fantastic photos. Quirky, crazy and just perfect for my day. This photographer has become a friend now too. Yes I may be biased but, please please...its one day, make sure your visual memories are the best possible.
