Hello, I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year’s Celebration. It is great to be able to see family and friends during the holidays we normally don’t get to see. The holidays are over and family/friends have returned home…..Now back to work…. “So What?” That is a question that a former administrator would ask us as UNL Extension Educators. She would say, “You have been doing a lot of work – but ‘So What?’ What difference did it make? What impact are you having.” Leaders in Thayer County have met two times for ECAP (Entrepreneurial Communities Activation Process). We have been working hard – and have had two great meetings. Attached, please find the notes taken at the last meeting in Bruning. In another email, I’ll send you notes from the first meeting in Hebron. There has GREAT CONVERSATION – building a great foundation - listing of values that can be found in the county. Groups assessed where the county is according to the 8 Entrepreneurial Characteristics. We found out the Discovery Tool Online Survey results. Have we had a county-wide impact yet? The next meeting of ECAP will be on Wednesday, January 7th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room on the Thayer County Fairgounds in Deshler. Please attend – let’s continue planning for a bright future for Thayer County. Looking down the road 10 years – what would you like to see the result of ECAP be?...The “So What?” The Deshler Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the evening. I understand that Deshler high school students will be attending – I’m sure they would like to voice their opinions on what they would like to see. Please invite other youth to attend.
