Hello Im the Neutral Critic. Anything I need to say Ill keep an open mind. You know, ever since I saw Saving Mr. Banks, I been asking a question. Are we really representing Walt Disney properly? Well, with that aside lets take out the factor of Anti-semtitism and freezing capsole, which are just muckraking in general (take this criticism with a grain of salt). Walt Disney has made a lot of accomplishments in the 20th century and in my opinion is probably one of the most healthiest filmmakers of all time. Im mean, we have George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Brad Bird, Genndy Tartavosky, Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan, Josh Whedon, Kenneth Branaugh, Martin Scoresese, Francis Ford Coppola, Sam Raime, Peter Jackson, Joe Wright, etc. However, these filmmakers have one thing in common. Do they have a steady family relationship? My answer to this is no. (Again, take this criticism with a grain of salt). Walt Disney has a film studio, a television broadcast, a theme park, had a ton of ideas, and still manage to spend time with his family. None of these could top what Walt Disney accomplish. I guess my reason choosing Jeff Bridges to play Walt Disney because Jeff Bridges played Kevin Flynn in the movie Tron, which I will recommend to those who are curious and make sure you see it a second time. Anyway, it was Tron Legacy that made me appreciate Jeff Bridges to play Walt Disney. So, would I recommend this movie. Awesomely yeah. Just be disappointed in both Sam Flynn and Quorra. Anyway, the conversation that Kevin Flynn talks about is where he was in charge of Encom, he was entering the computer world, taking care of his family that it reminds me of how much dedication it took to put in a lot of multitasking in their job. I guess Doug Walker kinda has this thing, too. Anyway, the multi-tasking was the key element to represent Walt Disney to show that he can be a worker of great element. And we have seen Jeff Bridges play more than one job of playing a company man. I just think it would have been cool to see Walt Disney to be played by Jeff Bridges because he has the age down, he has the qualities of how Walt Disney should act like, and on top of it we have seen where Jeff Bridges knows how to drink and smoke if needed. I just think that choosing Tom Hanks was just a blinded casting in the eye of filmmaking. J.K. Simons would have been my second choice because it would have been fine if they just put on make-up for him if he can just act like Walt Disney. And on top of it, I would love a recasting of the Sherman Brothers because they just looked like babies when it was casted. So let me get this straight. comic book nerds would complain about the casting in Superman Returns, The Fanastic 4 reboot, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, but everyone is cool with having the Sherman Brothers be casted as friggin babies. Am I the only who is disturbed by this casting? I must be on mars if this is possible. Well, anyway, Could have Saving Mr. Banks been an excellent film. no, which is why I would definitely put this in the worst category even though it was given a b-, I still stand by my word if this was an excellent film, I would love this film and its a Walt Disney film diving into the making of Mary Poppins. There was somewhat heart put into this film, but a little bit of retooling of the cast members would have made this a hell of a lot better. And on top of it, I would love to see more of the Travers family than the filmmaking part. I guess the only moment I love the Sherman Brothers and Walt Disney together was where they were singing the song Feed the Birds because that was the only moment I would accept Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and the other two casting as the Sherman Brothers. So, if there comes a time where we need to make a biopic of Walt Disney, make sure it is an excellent film and if not, then theres no reason to make another. Im the Neutral Critic and think about my thoughts when you have the time.
