Hello, Im the Neutral Critic. Anything I need to say Ill keep an open mind. And welcome to Tribute corner. This is where I pay tribute to a famous filmmaker or maybe a famous character. With that said, lets talk about a two of my favorite filmmakers of all time is Genndy Tartavosky and Brad Bird. Now why would I do two tributes for the price of one. Well, because they are so similar. You ever notice that Brad Bird worked for a bunch of Television shows that was famous. Well, the same could be said for Genndy. For those who dont know, Genndy Tartavosky was in charge of Cartoon Network. Genndy knew how to pay tribute to an original cartoon while still creating a brand new cartoon show. This is the guy who made Dexters Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Im even kidding a Star Wars: clone Wars mini series. This mini is so awesome I call upon John Campea to see this show to make up what Star Wars meant-ish. I think the Star Wars mini series was so awesome that it made the prequels look superfluous. But as you can tell George Lucas was not pleased. Way to go George Lucas. Actually, the funny thing about George Lucas is that I do categorized him as my second favorite filmmaker, but much like how the Nostalgia Critic reviews Stephen King, George Lucas is more similar to Stephen King. I guess he has some of the habits of Stephen King and I do sympathize with him is that your imagination is your power as long as it doesnt go too silly. The same could be said for George Lucas. George Lucas in the 90s developed a bad habit called the tweaking habit where every purest can complain. And the Prequels followed and the fourth Indiana Jones. Whats surprisingly the worst film hes made. I mean worse than the prequels themselves is the Star Wars: the Clone Wars feature film. (Note to self, review The Phantom Menace and The Clone Wars movie). Anyway, you can tell that George Lucas was furious that the attention was more on the Cartoon Network mini series than on the Prequels. The Clone Wars was sort of the Stephen King version of his telling of The Shining. And I will give a slight chance to the Prequels, but not much. I would definitely say the Prequels are the Guilty Pleasure movies I would watch because of the Jedi fights. Everything else sucks. Aside from the Prequels, The Clone Wars is by far the worst film ever made. I guess the Prequels was made for a new audience and talking to purrests is really hard to convince that these movies are ok, which in fact is not a good film. So I cannot the films, but I admire they were trying to make Star Wars more childish than the original and thats not a good sign. Wait, wasnt I talking about Genndy. Right, anyway, Genndy moved on to do movies now, which is why we have limited cartoons on Cartoon Network. And the first film he has made was called Hotel Transylvania, which got a mixed bag. Some audiences love this while others hate movie. Yeah, Genndy its a sign dont work for Happy Madison, they can ruin your career. I guess you can say that Hotel Transylvania is much similar to The Iron Giant where a lot of people didnt get to see this movie, but I did. And speaking of which, lets talk about my other favorite filmmaker Brad Bird. Brad Bird film making is much similar to Steven Spielberg meaning that it gives heart to his film making. When The Iron Giant came out I was excited to see this film, but what I didnt realized is that people didnt see this film. I have my own reason why this film didnt get to be watched by everyone. I think because the movie came out in August. And I have one question to audiences: Do we get to see movies in August. In all likeliness August is not much of a month to see movies. I think August is one of those preparation months in all likeliness. The same could be said about February because not many people go see a movie February. Speaking of which, how is this that the Lego Movie got a February release and many went to go see this film. Anyway, August is just business thrown in. And not many people go see an August film. Others might be on vacation. So, its up to you if you want to see a film in August. Since Brad Bird took a huge giant step in, his next creation was The Incredibles, which is my absolute favorite Pixar film ever made and I will declare Brad Bird one of my favorite filmmakers of all time. Brad Bird seems to have great sense of storytelling. And I admire this a lot. His next film was called Ratatouille, which was focused on a rat who wants to cook and dives into a average joe and turns out to turn into an expert cook. After his career in Pixar, Brads next film was a very surprising take in his participation. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol was probably his first live action film and since Tom Cruise was the person to resurrect Mission Impossible, I give him a lot of credibility for that. And the next film that will come out soon is Tomorrowland, which is based off of the ride in Epcot. And I have to admit, if this is his next movie, I trust his judgment on how he is going to portray the future since we have a ton of those. And since I love tomorrowland, I look forward to his film in the future placing my heart in these two filmmakers. Now I heard that Genndy might be doing a Popeye cartoon movie (Note: take this news with a grain of salt), I trust that Genndy will give us a badass Popeye movie. Im the Neutral Critic and think about my thoughts when you have the time.
