Hello, In light of the good news about Johns improved heart, and the possible explantation, some people asked me some questions about what this is or what will be like. I just want to briefly show you through a Mayo clinic picture what his VAD looks like. It is just one simple page picture of what VAD looks like. In order to implant the VAD, they had to medically damage his heart by putting holes in his heart and aorta. What John is caring around is not the pump, but the pump is inside his rib cage underneath his heart and he is carrying around his battery. mayoclinic/health/medical/IM04277 So you can see that this will be another major surgery and complicated one because while the pump is in him, he also has to come off of his blood thinner (one of many other things to be careful) so that he will not lose too much blood. We have 2 weeks to go for our stress test. Our rehab director assured us that John is more than ready for this as long as he keeps his exercises consistently. We took a week off so that his heart cath wound not open again. John and I mean to make the best of it...and even enjoy this time if its possible. John expressed that if when is offered to him, he would like to have it done this year. So there you go. Today, specifically, if your loved ones are ill or if you lost your loved ones, I will be praying for you. May his presence embrace you and comfort you esp. through his words. I find his words to be most strengthening and comforting. Also, from now on I would like to add one more verse as I sign off. IGNORING what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Mark 5:36 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.... Even though I walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
