Hello Internet! I’m Lex Chase and today Dreamspinner Press let me take over their Facebook Page, as we chat about my July 25th release Chasing Sunrise, Book 1 of the Darkmore Saga! Chasing Sunrise follows the story of King Sevon of Darkmore, trapped in a lifelong abusive relationship. He’s desperate for escape and to find love on his own terms and learn he is worthy of being loved. Set amid a paranormal world of vampires and shifters locked in a brutal war where only one can survive. Or as I liked to call it The Most Controversial Book Ever. The lovely young man on the cover is our hero Sevon. He’s highly effeminate, and wears only women’s clothing. I wanted to portray a different kind of hero outside of the strong masculine men that we usually find in M/M. So for all you dainty gentlemen out there? This book is for you! I’ve envisioned androgynous model Danila Kovalev as my ideal Sevon. No clue what they feed those boys in Russia, but they need to keep feeding them it. Danila, like transwoman Andreja Pejic, can move from modeling men’s and women’s clothing seamlessly. For Jack, the puma shifter that sweeps Sevon off his feet, his casting surprised me a bit. I had someone else in mind based on a single photo. A reader pointed out her Jack was Heath Ledger from his 10 Things I Hate About You days. I was on board with the decision! He’s a little edgy, quite a bit naughty, and has that toothy grin that he’s definitely up to no good! In your experiences in movies, who would you choose to cast? Or insist the casting was wrong? What movie was it? Who would you pick instead? Pick a couple characters and let me know down below! dreamspinnerpress/store/product_info.php?products_id=5253
