Hello, It is for a while now that I have contemplated setting up a charitable non-profit organization, the time has come to set forward. I will be very thankful if you can translate it to other languages and send it to me, I got it already in Spanish & Hebrew Crowd Charity Goal: Aid the sick and handicapped Method: Raise funds via the web and then dispense it to charitable NGOs operating in Israel. Details: Each time you buy online (e.g. Amazon, eBay, iTunes, etc.) part of your money (5% to 7%) can be channeled to the needy. How? The various online shops offer “percentage for customers”. Thus we are provided with a link to their sites by which it is possible to identify the customers that came through us. Our organization will join their partner programs, bring them customers and transfer the money to the NGOs. As simple as that! What we are actually seeking from the Israeli and worldwide Jewish public: If you wish to buy online, please pass through our website first and proceed to the online shop of your choice by our link. Thereby these online shops will know to whom to funnel the percentage so it can be distributed on to the NGOs. Potential: Huge! Online shopping is a phenomenon that is on the rise. Now for the numbers: There are about 16 million Jews in the world, that is roughly 4 million families of 4. For the sake of example lets say that each family buys online in the amount of 250$ per year, this means that as a whole a billion$ is being spent on online shopping, 5% of which are 50million$. Wouldn’t it be better that this sum of money will go to the state of Israel and its needy people rather than to foreign hands. The money is spent anyway; the only difference is whether it goes to charity or to a mega-company. The price the consumer is paying stays exactly the same, yet by taking a moment of his time passing through our link, he has done a great deed helping those less fortunate. Action plan 1. Join the partnership programs of the big online shops. 2. Set up a website with links to the various online shops. It can then be upgraded to an application for the mobile to the said links. 3. Inform as many people as possible of the possibility to donate as they shop online. This is to be achieved by direct approach, social sites, etc. indeed it is this that is the main task of our initiative, beyond directly raising funds for charity via the web we also aim to educate and spread the word that as consumers it is in our hands to make society a better place. p.s.
