Hello, Ive put together something pertaining to the Gospel and people who may hold different views upon Gods Grace to us. I would appreciate it if you guys could give me some feed back because I plan on sharing it with people who dont know it, or are confused. There is no glory to me or credit to me. I amount to nothing without Christ. In my heart and Spirit I contend for the faith and I would at least like to know if you guys are in common standings with what I believe. Thank you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” (Romans 5:8-10) Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, became our substitute for the payment of our sins, shedding his blood for the remission of our sins, descended to Hades on behalf of the penalty of our sins. Literally taking ALL the entirety of every sin a man will commit, becoming sin for us(2 Cor 5:21) and paid for all of them once and for all.(Rom 6:10) Then, rose again, proving to us that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of God, providing us eternal justification, remission of sins and redemption towards any individual that believes in Him and His finished work on behalf of the individual’s already condemned sin (John 3:18). It is believing that Jesus Christ, [literally God in flesh, God with us. Immanuel (Matt 1:23)] actually did that for us, to save us from our already condemned state of sin. Our nature is sin; (Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12, 19; Psalms 51:5) a helpless condition of unrighteousness deserving of the lake of fire. It cannot change and is impossible by mere actions of the sinner to change it. It is all vanity. The individual is helpless and the only thing he can rely on, is his faith in Him who is able to save him from his state of condemnation. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, (Gal 2:20-21) who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:” Romans 8:1-3 Yet by the love of God toward us, we have been given this gift of such great salvation to receive with no work on our part. That by faith in Christ, He died for you and I. Forgiven us all our trespasses (Col 2:13-14). That by faith in Christ and through Christ’s finished work, does that transformation take place. The once eternal state of the sinner’s spiritual death, has been forever changed into the eternal state of spiritual life. Sealed with the Holy Spirit. Placed into the Body of Christ. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Cor 5:21) God’s unimaginable love and un-merited favor towards us, Jesus Christ died for all of our sins. Our past sins, our present sins and future sins. Christ being the only satisfactory sacrifice to God, for us, able to pay off all sin. “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” (Hebrews 10:12) God has given unto us such amazing Grace. Such Grace that saves the individual’s already condemned state of second death, into a state of second birth by nothing more than believing on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is Faith in His work that saves. Not ours, but His. If the finished work of Christ was sufficient enough to God the Father, then what leads a man to believe he must contribute to such a work already finished? How an individual could reject or add upon such great salvation is beyond foolish. Though the un-saved individual may have been mis-indoctrinated to hold certain beliefs as a means to salvation, all works performed on his part are still and always will be dead works by all means; for salvation is a free gift. How can any work performed of the sinner be justifiable in the eyes of God apart from Christ’s redeeming work of the “old man” to the “new creature?( 2 Cor 5:15-17)” How is it, that one may say they, “believe salvation is by Grace through faith in Christ”, while consistently working there-in to maintain it? This belief not only denies the eternal security of the believer’s state, but more-so denies the fact that, Jesus Christ died and paid for all sin, once(Rom 6:10)and forever(Heb 10:12). In other words, this viewpoint is to have, in fact, believed the Gospel “in vain.”(1 Cor 15:1-4) Living “like Jesus”, apart from what Jesus Christ had accomplished on behalf of the individual does not save the individual. An individual holding the belief that, if they are to change their lifestyle to that which emulates the life Jesus lived on earth is somehow to them, the key ingredient to gain inheritance into Heaven. No scripture pertaining to the Church tells the individual that they must “be like, do like, or act like”, as a means to receive salvation under this dispensation of Grace. We are not under Law, but under Grace. (Eph 3:1-2) To be “Christ-like”, is a work that can only be instituted upon the believer’s life by the Holy Spirit. “For we are His workmanship” (Eph 2:10) Our likeness of Christ is dependent on our willingness to trust God and His Word, by faith. In doing, it will produce the results of God’s act in doing something for us, which is only made possible if the individual has believed the Gospel to begin with! Living a life of constant repentance (Works salvation) does not save a person. Of the most important and as previously written alike, how can our works gain anything, if Jesus Christ had already said “It is finished?”(John 19:30) Does the sinner think to himself that what and how he performs is somehow worthy to add upon that which was declared “finished” by the man-God who knew no sin??? The individual’s self-willed performance pertaining to salvation, is not only impossible to achieve, let alone, sin passed upon all men (Romans 5:12-21), but the works performed are dead and always will be, till the day “Christ liveth in them.” (Gal 2:20) Water baptism does not save a person. Water baptism is not an additional process in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ as a means to salvation. Water baptism is the symbolic statement of the individual who has just been saved. It is an “outward profession of an inward reality” within the assembly of fellow believers. Though I’m not condoning water baptism in anyway, I am merely stressing the importance between the differences of where our object of faith should be placed. It should be understood that water is not saving factor, nor is the work that is performed therein as a “process to becoming saved”. Jesus Christ was the process. Jesus Christ is the one who finished the process and Jesus Christ is our saving factor. Understand, that, although there is nothing wrong with water baptism as symbolizing a new member, who is already saved, into the Church, it becomes very dangerous when it is to be believed that one must be baptized in order to be saved. Any effort that a man performs on his part, thinking they may receive salvation, takes credit unto himself from the only credit Jesus Christ alone is only worthy of. Too many people question the power of God’s Grace to us-ward. It is the nature of the sinner to be curious. Yet curiosity can either lead the individual to the truth, partial truths, or no truth at all. The sinner’s fleshly nature, the world and demonic influences are what make such a thing that is true, into something that is too good to be true. And by that, they may believe in something that is partial truth, or no truth at all. Consequently, they deceive themselves, while deceiving others (2 Timothy 3:1-17), without the slightest inking that they are also deceived. It is that, which is destroying the Church. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through FAITH and that not of yourselves, (We are incapable to save ourselves) it is the GIFT of God, not of works, (man’s efforts to salvation) lest any man should boast. (No man should think they deserve salvation by their own works) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 If the wages of my sin is death, then how can I save myself if I am born into sin? I can do nothing to get rid of it, no matter best efforts?! Only Christ our Lord could. He has finished it. BUT the gift of God is eternal life How do I receive this gift? You receive it, through Jesus Christ our Lord. What must I do? Theres not one thing a man or woman can do, but BELIEVE in what He has already done you for. What did Jesus Christ do for me, so I may also believe?? Believe what Jesus Christ has done for us as the scriptures themselves, testify, The Gospel. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, UNLESS YE HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Cor 15:1-4 Anyone can believe in Jesus, as most do. Anyone can believe that he died for them. But are they truly believing and understanding just exactly what it is that Christ has accomplished on behalf of the sinner who is already condemned? This is the difference between a “lost believer” and “the believer.” Gospel Facts: I. Jesus Christ died for the penalty of our sins; past, present and future. II. He was buried for three days. III. He rose again from the dead on the third day, defeating the death we deserve and providing us our only way to justification through Him. For without Christ and the shedding of His blood, there would be no possible remission of our sins (Heb 9:22). For Christ had no sin and the purity of His blood became our only satisfactory atonement for our souls. IV. Christ chose Paul to not only deliver this message of the “Good News” (Gospel) to man, but to reveal the mystery of the Church; His body, and all the unsearchable riches therein. V. Paul declared, that this is the Gospel that saves a man. By which also ye are saved. VI. “if ye keep in MEMORY what I preached unto you” (Believing) VII. “UNLESS ye have BELIEVED IN VAIN (believing it without a cause.) VIII. Christ died for our sins. (truth) IX. according to the scriptures (proof) X. and that he was buried (truth) XI. and that he rose again the third day (truth) XII. according to the scriptures (proof) If Paul then declares the Gospel that says Christ died for Our sins, what does Ephesians 1:13 have to say? In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the Gospel(“Good News”) of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were SEALED with that Holy Spirit of promise Eph 1:13 So if the wages of sin is death, though we believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again and have trusted in Him and have believed the Gospel of our salvation and since having believed were in fact SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise, then not one person should have an issue with the fact that Jesus Christ paid it all, Just as the Word of God testifies. Just as it is written, For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God IS eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Just as it is written, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened (Made alive) us together with Christ, (by GRACE ye are saved;)” Eph 2:4-5 Just as it is written, In whom we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the FORGIVENESS of sins, according to the riches of his GRACE” (Eph 1:7) Just as it is written, “For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that NOT of yourselves: [it is] the GIFT of God: NOT of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph 2:8-9) If the sinning individual can realize and admit, that he or she, in fact can do nothing, what are they left with but to believe, just as the Word of God tells us so? If salvation then, is “the Gift of God: not of our works”, then it is impossible for any man to earn it. If one can do nothing to earn salvation, what is one left then to do? One can do anything, but believe. If one can do nothing but believe, then what can the one who believeth, do to lose it? The love of God how great and so true. My sin to be bled for, that Christ make me new. Thoughts beyond imagine, the display of His Grace. All sin on His body, pounds the nail in its place. Such love that it is, to a sinner like me. That God would even gift, salvation for free. Though when in the flesh, His love much more abounds. All praise to the Lambs honor, the day we cast crowns.
