Hello! Jessica here, This is a curtesy message reminding you that the Inner Spark dance and art camp starts next monday! JULY 28th and I am so excited!!! I have some new ideas and great news. Read on to find out more...and please please share! The 6 and up camp starts at 9:30 and ends at 12:00 Monday to Friday. The cost is $125 per student. They will need: a water bottle, an old t-shirt for painting messes, a snack and super clean sneakers. Some of the fun will include:Water color painting, Jewelry making, Dance and fitness Games, Theater games and more. We will also put together a short dance/music video! The 10 and up camp starts at 1:00 and ends at 4:15 Monday to Friday. The cost is $162.50 per student. Please bring a snack, water bottle, clean sneakers, sharp fabric scissors and painting clothes. (There will be two very special guest teachers during the week as well! Jessie Gervais and Carly Ann Cofield. Two very enspiring professional dancers. See their bios and photos below.) The week will cosist of various choreography lessons, fabric arts, jewelry making, painting and more. We will also put together a dance/photo calendar. During the week there will be two guest teachers for ages 10 and up. If you would like to attend these classes but not the whole camp please do! Its an opportunity that you cant miss. The classes will cost $25 per student or free for students enrolled in the camp. Carly Ann Cofield-Jazz Funk/Hip Hop/Pop Wednesday, July 29th 2:30-4:00 $25 per student Carley was born and raised on Vancouver Island British Columbia. After 16 years of studio training in all styles of dance, she settled in Toronto at age 18 to begin pursuing her dream of becoming a professional dancer. Over the years she has had the chance to compete and train all over the world. During Carleys competitive years, she received “Dancer Of The Year” and a scholarship to train in Paris France, an apprenticeship to assist the Extreme Dance faculty with Melissa Williams (So You Think You Can Dance Canada), “The Next Level” award to train in Los Angeles & New York, Scholarships for The Los Angeles Millennium Dance Complex as well from Twitch and Bobby Newberry during Coastal Dance Rage. Carley was also selected in Las Vegas to represent at the National Finals during West Coast Dance Explosion. During her last competitive year, Carley was awarded adjudicators choice at the BC Annual Dance Competition, after obtaining numerous high scoring performances. Soon after graduation, Carley was accepted into the OIP Dance Company. Since then, she has gone on to work with many of Torontos top choreographers. Carley was picked up by Scott Fordham to join a small select roster for his live show Limitless where she performed alongside Torontos best. Recently, she had the opportunity to work on performances for Madonna, Deborah Cox, Shawn Desman, Capital Cities (Safe & Sound) , Just Dance the video game, Toronto Fashion Week, The 2014 Much Music Video Awards with pop-rock band Hedley, The Pan American Games 1 Year Launch, as well as multiple corporate events. Carley is also pleased to be a part of Tamina Pollack-Pariss newly formed group The Girls Club where the full cast debuted at the 10th Anniversary of Torontos Original Choreographers Ball. Carley couldn’t be more grateful for what Toronto has to offer and looks forward to her future in the industry. Jessie Gervais-Ballet/Contemporary Thursday, July 31st 2:30-4:00 $25 per student Jessie was born in Prince George, B.C. in 1989. He later moved to Port Alberni where he began taking tap classes at Pat Cummings School of Dance. After moving to the Comox Valley he started going to Gemini Dance Studios, starting with a couple classes a week until taking every possible class. In 2005 he auditioned for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s summer program and was subsequently asked to stay for the year. He attended the school for 4 years, graduating in 2009. From Winnipeg he moved to Spain to dance with Victor Ullate’s ballet, returning later that same year to join the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s aspirant program. In 2010 he joined the Corps de Ballet at the Compañía Nacional de Danza de México, where he danced for 4 years including dancing soloist and lead roles in The Sleeping Beauty, The Messiah, Cinderella, and the Nutcracker.
