Hello North Clackamas Relayers and Supporters! What a great 2013 Relay For Life of North Clackamas we had! I’d like to thank each and every one of you for helping make your event so amazing. None of it would have been possible without YOU! To a couple of people in particular, that did not get the recognition they deserved, Lisa Stubbs and Sophia Branch…you were Super Heroes without a doubt! You were both machines during Relay, so THANK YOU!!!! Special thanks to our event sponsors: Pape’ Kenworth, Impac Mortgage, Pape’ Machinery, Country Financial, Kaiser Permanente, Pape’ Rents, and HNL/HOA Manufacturing. Survivor tent sponsor: Sun Glow, Inc., for providing the air conditioning so that both Survivors and participants had a cool place to relax. Huge thanks to the City of Happy Valley for your support and belief in both our newbie committee and in Relay itself. We are honored to be able to hold our event in such a beautiful venue in our community. Relay For Life is all about is being a community event that can see beyond itself and open its hearts for the good of all. Thank you for welcoming us back into the park in such a wonderful way. To the amazing bands that donated 100% of their time to entertain us, you really do rock! • Mike Branch Band • Portland School of Rock • Swiv-O-Matix • Angel Bouchet Band Remember their names, look for them, and get out there and support them at their shows. If it weren’t for these folks, we wouldn’t have eaten as well as we did: Saturday Breakfast & Coffee: Great Harvest Bread Co, Franz Baker, Duck Delivery Quality Produce, and Abundant Life Church. Lunch: Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, and Portland Beverage Co. Cupcakes for our Fight Back Ceremony from Cakes by Denise Special ice cream visit by Baskin Robbins Dinner: the old spaghetti factory Midnight Snack: Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza, and TNT Kettle Korn Sunday Breakfast: Kaiser Permanente, Dean’s HomeStyle Café, and 2 Chicks & a Rooster Catering & BBQ My sincere apologies to those that missed out on lunch. The bad news is, we ran out of food during that time. The good news is, we had way more people than we anticipated. Again, thanks to all of our business partners that donated, time and/or items to keep us going and help us do what we do…Relay For Life! Please support them as they supported us. Remember, the books are still open until the end of August, so there’s still time to turn in those last minute donations. Please also mark the following dates/times on your calendars: Sunday, August 25th is our Wrap-Up Gathering from 1-3pm in Area B. Come share your thoughts & ideas, vote on next year’s theme, and eat ice cream! It’s also a great time to talk about being a part of the 2014 RFLNC Planning Committee. We have several positions available that weren’t filled this past year and a couple that are opening up. We’d love to chat with you about chairing or co-chairing a committee position. Then on Tues, Aug. 27th and Wed, Aug. 28th, we’re having another fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen. Bring your flyer and CPK will donate 20% of your ENTIRE order, all day, both days to RFLNC. Again! Flyers will be available at the Wrap-Up, or downloadable at RFLNC.org or facebook/Relay4LifeNClackamas. Be sure to “share” our events with your friends. I hope to see you all soon!
